10/31/22 Film Mode appoints key acquisitions, sales staff heading into AFM

Clay Epstein’s Film Mode Entertainment (FME) has named Lydia Ianni VP of Acquisitions and development as it prepares to kick off AFM sales on a slate that includes the sci-fi thriller Unseen from The Soska Sisters and Radar Pictures.

Ianni was previously manager of acquisitions for Cohen Media Group, where she facilitated the acquisition of films such as My Old Lady starring Kevin Kline, Kristin Scott Thomas, and Maggie Smith. She was also head of acquisitions and operations for Cinema Management Group where she worked on the acquisition of The Walk starring Justin Chatwin, Terrence Howard, and Lovie Simone.

In her new role Ianni will source new content and IP opportunities – both completed films and packages – for potential acquisition, executive producer roles and sales representation.

The executive will also work closely with Epstein reviewing all materials for development, production, and acquisition opportunities.

Additionally, Charlotte Mott has been promoted to director of worldwide sales and will handle sales and business affairs, spearhead representation of the Screen Media catalogue, and participate in the company’s acquisitions and marketing efforts. She joined Film Mode Entertainment in 2020 and was previously manager of sales and acquisitions.

Jen and Sylvia Soska wrote and will direct Unseen and are out to casting. Ted Field (Amityville Horror, Jumanji franchise) is producing the story inspired by the video game BlindSide. The story takes place in the 1970s and centres on a Boston couple who wake up blind and discover everyone around them has also been stricken blind.

Their only hope is a blind woman who volunteered the previous day for an experiment to allow her to see again in her dreams.

Producers include Maria Frisk, Michael Napoliello, Alex Power of Radar Pictures, and Twisted Twins Productions. Epstein is executive producer.
